Mark points out that Amazon does provide some bad reviews of the books they sale. Okay, I’ll give them that. I’m still bothered by seeing everyone use them as a standard link for books. I will also agree that, for a bookseller, they are a better source for a raw review than B&N. I’ve looked at ISBN.nu and I’m not so happy with them either. I don’t disagree with Mark on anything he’s said about Amazon or the alternatives.
What I have done in the past is just Googled the title and author and picked the best non-bookseller review that I found in the results. It takes a little more time but I think that it gives my readers a better sense of my feelings on the book. Most likely I’ll pick a review that I’m in agreement with.
