OpenID

OpenID should be working here now and is required to sign up for an account. The account won’t get you anything right now that you don’t already have but at some point I might require an account to post a comment.

If you currently have an account here and want to play with OpenID log ons just go into your account and add your identity provider to your account. I think LID ought to work also.

Felix, you can set your place up very easily to act as an OpenID server for you. It just takes two plugins.

Larry, I am looking at the info on OpenID. Takes a while for me to get my head around some of the tech stuff available. Looks like OpenID would simplify my logging in on sites – as long as the site accepts it.

On another note, I see that your problems with Gallery seem to be continuing. My gallery works still, although I have never succeeded in embedding it. I also notice that your version of Word Perfect is 2.7, while I am still using 2.6. Could it be that 2.7 is not compatible with Gallery?

Oh, and on a personal note, Barbara and I are getting married February 21. I haven’t said anything on Gary’s board yet, and probably won’t except maybe in the Sekret Klubhouse. We are happy about finally solemnizing our relationship. The year is starting well in that way.

Felix, I still don’t know that I have my head wrapped completely around OpenID but, yes, it will simplify logging into sites that support it. I was wanting to use it with Live Journal and probably still will but if you already have a Live Journal account your Live Journal URL is your OpenID and there is no place available to set another URL up as your OpenID server.

My Gallery install is still working at http://gallery2.larrydburton.com but WPG2 and it’s widget plugin are broken on this WordPress install. I just don’t have the time to troubleshoot the problem between the WPG2 support forum and the Servage support staff. My problems started when I upgraded WP to 2.6 but there were also some changes that Servage made to the environment about that time.

I think my biggest problem is that I’m running too many plugins.

It’s great to hear about you and Barbara. I know you two will find many happy years together. If you could wait six more days, the 27th, you would be marrying on my birthday. ;)
