Antidoping Agency Details Doping Case Against Lance Armstrong – NYTimes.com

I have problems with statements like:

“The agency said that witnesses’ testimony was so damning that it did not need any corroborating evidence to make its case….”

via Antidoping Agency Details Doping Case Against Lance Armstrong – NYTimes.com.

It’s sort of like saying, “Our allegations are so serious that we don’t need proof to convict this person.”

Now, I’m not naive enough to think it isn’t likely that Lance Armstrong was involved in doping at some level in his career but the man was clever enough not to get caught during his whole career where he was tested extensively. I’m hoping this report becomes public. I’d like to see exactly what it is the USADA believes is such damning testimony.

Third Parties

Here’s an interesting essay that points out why I do not hesitate to vote for the third party candidate when they seem reasonable and present a platform I agree with. I kind of like the way he ends it:

Some of you reading this may be Republican. Then vote Republican. Some of you may be Democrats. Then vote Democrat. Good for you. But others of you are Americans commited only to the labels of liberty and justice for all, and to you I say this:

Your vote counts. Your opinion matters. If your heart feels led to vote third party, know that a vote for a third party is never a wasted vote, and this is your time to choose!

He brought up a Bible verse that I think is a lot more relevant than he may believe.

The days of punishment are coming, the days of reckoning are at hand. Let Israel know this. Because your sins are so many and your hostility so great, the prophet is considered a fool, the inspired person a maniac.

Hosea 9:7
New International Version (NIV)

Third party political candidates are either ignored or marginalized by the major parties. I admit that most of them have some pretty far out there ideas but I try to remember this verse whenever a third party political candidate runs on a reasonable platform. I think Gov. Gary Johnson’s platform is reasonable.
