We’re big in bicycling: Hoboken becomes NJ’s only designated bike-friendly & walk-friendly community | NJ.com

New Jersey finally has a bike-friendly designated city. Congratulations, citizens of Hoboken. Y’all are doing something good.

In 2011, Hoboken was named a Gold Walk Friendly community, and this new designation makes Hoboken the only designated bike-friendly and walk-friendly city in New Jersey.

In the past three years, the City of Hoboken has installed 8 miles of new bike lanes covering 25% of the City’s street miles, nearly doubled bicycle parking capacity, retrofitted old parking meters as bike racks, started a bike rack sponsorship program for residents and businesses, and installed its first public bike repair station.
