Credibility? Roy, you have less and less with every word out of your mouth.

Roy Moore isn’t backing down. Yesterday he had this to say:

Addressing a gathering at the Huntsville Christian Academy in Huntsville, Ala., on Sunday night, the former judge suggested that he was investigating his accusers, threatened to sue The Washington Post and called on the United States to restore its culture by going “back to God.”

So, he is having your accusers investigated, eh? So far his claim is that these women didn’t voluntarily come forward, they were hunted down by the Washington Post reporters and lobbied to tell their story so they shouldn’t be believed.

Neither Corfman nor any of the other women sought out The Post. While reporting a story in Alabama about supporters of Moore’s Senate campaign, a Post reporter heard that Moore allegedly had sought relationships with teenage girls. Over the ensuing three weeks, two Post reporters contacted and interviewed the four women. All were initially reluctant to speak publicly but chose to do so after multiple interviews, saying they thought it was important for people to know about their interactions with Moore.

And this is suppose to make their stories less credible? Shoot, it makes them more credible to me. You want to know what else gives them credibility? A little gossip provided by Teresa Jones, one of Moore’s former colleagues in the Gadsden DA’s office:

“It was common knowledge that Roy dated high school girls. Everyone we knew thought it was weird,” former Etowah County deputy district attorney Teresa Jones told CNN national correspondent Alexander Marquardt. “We wondered why someone his age would hang out at high school football games and the mall. But you really wouldn’t say anything to someone like that.”

Normally I wouldn’t give much credence to this type of gossip except for the fact that Teresa Jones is a well thought of attorney and partner with Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec & Westheimer, P.A. and I don’t think someone with that background would expose herself to the scrutiny she had to know this was going to bring upon her unless it was true.

And then there is Mike Oritz, an ex-boyfriend of Leigh Corfman who says that she told him the story about her encounter with Moore in 2009, long before the Washington Post sent reporters to Gadsden to dig up dirt on Moore. Maybe the Post’s story on Moore is a hit piece but it appears to be a truthful hit piece.

Oh, and then there is Betsy Davis:

Betsy Davis, who remains friendly with Corfman and now lives in Los Angeles, says she clearly remembers Corfman talking about seeing an older man named Roy Moore when they were teenagers. She says Corfman described an encounter in which the older man wore nothing but tight white underwear.

Are you getting the picture now? There is about a 99% probability in my mind that Roy Moore is a pedophile. He is the epitome of every bad Alabama joke I’ve heard throughout my lifetime.

A few years ago I noted that Roy Moore had declared himself “God of Alabama”. It appears he is really no more than a clay-footed idol.
