New Trial for Stewart?
Martha Stewart is awaiting sentancing for the crime of lying to a federal investigator. She was convicted, in part, due to the testimony of Larry Stewart, a U.S. secret service laboratory director. Larry Stewart has been charged with perjury for the testimony he gave in Martha Stewarts trial. The prosecutors see no need for the judge to grant Ms. Stewart a new trial due to this.
Now let me see. Ms Stewart is going to jail for lying to a federal investigator due in part to a federal investigator lying to a federal court. Nah, I don’t see a reason to grant a new trial.
Damn hypocrits.
