I am so pleased to discover that the SC still holds our right to a day in court precious.
Congress did give the president authority to hold Hamdi, a four-justice plurality of the court said, but that does not cancel out the basic right to a day in court.

It came two days early. Iraq is now officially a sovereign nation again. My take on it is that the early handover has probably foiled the Iraqi insurgents in any ideas they may have had in marking the day of handover with coordinated attacks on the new government. When I was about eight I had my mouth washed out with SOAP by my mother. I had called my little brother a shithead in the heat of an argument. I have been careful about my usage of profanity ever since.
Because of my experience with the positive effects of washing a child’s mouth out with […]

I haven’t said much about Ronald Regan’s death this past weekend. Anything I could say has been said by everyone else. I do want to mention that Ray Charles has died. His music meant a lot to me. I’ll miss him.

It means "fox-like" but it should mean "true grit." At the National Spelling Bee young Akshay Buddiga is given the word "alopecoid" and he faints dead on the spot but he isn’t out for the count. He takes a moment to compose himself and then nails the word. Who said spelling bees weren’t exciting.

I read in Yahoo! News an article about Claud Johnson, Robert Johnson’s illegitimate son. Claud finally received his inheritance from his father’s estate and the story tells about how little it has changed his life.
The story also goes a little into the trial where the courts decided that Claud Johnson was the heir to Robert […]
