Written Up in InControl

For those of you who are curious about what I really do for a living InControl did a write up on my company and on a project that I had a minor role in. The ArmorStarts featured in the article really were instrumental in our getting the project completed on time.

Clear Channel “Breast Christmas Ever” Contest Draws Fire

I’m not a huge fan of breast augmentation. I’ve known some women that have benefitted from the surgery but then I’ve known some women that I thought actually were more appealing before the surgery. Still, I’ve got to question NOW’s objection to a breast enlargement contest.

In the “Breast Christmas Ever” contest, 13 women were awarded the procedure after writing essays to the stations explaining why they wanted larger breasts. A Tampa station claimed to receive more than 91,000 entries.

More than ninty-one thousand women voluntarily sent in entries to this contest and these entries weren’t just post cards with the entrants name and address, these were essays written by these women seeking to win the surgery.

While I’m willing to concede that there were probably a few hundred women willing to write an essay about why they deserved to be given bigger boobs for Christmas on a whim I hardly would think that 91,000 women would be so cavalier about such a thing. These women saw nothing wrong with the contest and, in fact, supported this contest with their entries. Where do the people at NOW get off protesting this contest?

I think this comes under the heading of straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel. There are so many other issues that NOW could be legitimately protesting and probably are. The problem with their protesting this issue is that it takes away from their credibility on other issues. NOW needs to pick their fights a little better.

Al-Zarqawi arrested?

It appears that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi may have been arrested. It’s curious that at this time (01/04/2004 10:46 AM EST) there is no word about this in US news sources.
