ESBN Numbers

Okay, the barcodes are new. These are Numly Numbers (Electronic Serial Numbers / ESNs) for digital content and media. I’m not sure I need them but in my constant need to tinker and play I’ve implemented them just for the heck of it. If you want to know more about them here’s the FAQ.

Finished?

Remember me telling you about that lawsuit I’ve been involved in forever? I went back to trial yesterday. Once again the judge found in our favor. I’ve been assured that this is the end. Still….

Disorganized religion

My friend, Cat, notices a difference between the way men and women think about organization. She is a member of a pagan community that, from what I can tell, is a very attractive alternative to organized religion to many of its members. It seems, though, that the men want to organize the community while the [...]

Ya gotta love what you do

I hit 51 this past February and it has me thinking about retirement. Not so much because I want to retire, just because I’m getting to the age when you start considering it. When I was in my thirties I couldn’t imagine myself wanting to retire. To be honest, I’m not so sure I will [...]

Bums

Yesterday I stopped by the Panera Bread near my house to pick up some Assiago Cheese Bagels for my son. He’s crazy about those things.
As I got out of the truck in the parking lot a man approached me telling me he was out of gas and needed a couple of dollars to put gas [...]

Don’t call me anymore

Years ago I use to get an enjoyment out of getting phone calls from telemarketers. I enjoyed it because it gave me an opportunity to mess with people. I’d get phone calls from people representing banks trying to sign me up for a credit card and I’d start asking about checking and savings accounts. I [...]
