But I didn’t need that much of a rest.

This past project took a lot out of me and I’ve been looking forward to a little slower pace, just not as slow as it has become.

As of this Friday, July 28th I will no longer be an employee of Polytron. I’m leaving on good terms with the company and I wish them all the success in the world. However, I now need to turn my attention to finding new employment. My resume is online and there is also the obligatory .DOC format of it there.

I’m a controls engineer/designer. That is what I enjoy doing and what I’d like to keep on doing but I’m open to other opportunities. If you have any suggestions pleas let me know. Your prayers that I end up where God would have me would also be appreciated.

That’s about all I have to say on that for now. I’m sure I’ll have a few more things to say during the process of locating a new job.

That’s a shame, Larry. You spend all that time away from home on a project for the company, then they don’t need you any more.

I understand the ebb and flow of contracts and how sometimes painful decisions must be made, I am just sorry it was you whose number came up.

Good luck on your search. With your resume’ something likely will turn up soon.

Thanks, Felix. I’m pretty confident I’ll be back working before the severence check is used up. This market isn’t like the last time I was unemployed. The economy is doing okay right now and my leaving the company was more from their need for someone more of a classic engineer with all the paperwork showing that they were rather than someone like me who picked up the skills and the education without the paperwork backing that up.

I’ve already applied for five other positions since I got home. The last time it was ten weeks before I even saw five positions to apply for.

You are completely qualified and will definitely find new employment. I have left the engineering field for teaching and am finding life way more fulfilling. Good luck to you!
