Changing the look again
September 6th, 2006 by Larry D. Burton
I’m playing with a new theme. There is some tweaking I need to do to make it fit this site but I generally like what I have here. We’ve been having fog the last few mornings. I think I’ll be taking my camera down on the Chattahoochie in the near future.
In the meantime, though, I think I’ll use this cabin picture for the background banner in the header. The original picture was taken in the north Georgia several years ago. I was driving around on the backstreets of some little town up in the mountains on US441 and found this cabin just sitting back behind the businesses. I thought that since this was ‘Larry’s Log’ a log cabin might be fitting.

I like that picture.
The Google ads are certainly worth a giggle. Right now there’s an ad for a “Judaism Ringtone” (I can come up with all sorts ot tasteless suggestions for an Israeli ringtone, but short of klezmer renditions of Hava Na Gila I’m coming up blank on Judaism), and the web site of a former pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga (over there on McCallie Ave).
Thanks, Dan. The original was nice but cropping it to fit the banner size, I think, made it more interesting.
Those Google ads have made me less than $50 in the three years I’ve run them but the amusement factor of what gets thrown up there keeps them there. They have been a little disturbing a few times but instead of repulsing me those times just made me more curious as to what would show up next.
I like both the pictures I have seen in your banner so far. The misty bridge scene was cool.
But the log cabin is wonderful. I have always loved log cabins. In my youth I wanted to build one myself, but age has brought me a more realistic sense of my limitations in the tool area. I once destroyed a toilet trying to change the seat.
Changing the banner pic is a good idea. Now that I have a decent camera I want to start doing that.
The new theme is crisp and clean, I like it.
