The Broker

I just finished up John Grisham’s The Broker. It was a decent story and a page turner but the ending was just too aburpt. This ending just left me dissatisfied with the book overall. Grisham has done much better with his endings in the past and this book deserved a much better ending.

Night Fall

I finished Night Fall this morning. It was a good read but it left me angry. I think that was the intent.

New Content in Sidebar

I’ve added a little thingy to the sidebar that I will keep my current book stack in. The one on the top is the one I’m about to start reading or am currently reading. As you can see, right now I’m reading Nelson DeMille’s Night Fall and really enjoying the read.
The book is about the […]

I’m back…

Hello, I’m back from vacationing in Cancun, Mexico. Pictures of the trip can be seen here in my photo gallery. I’ll write up a little about what I saw and what I did in the next day or so.
While I was gone Dan got to talking about books with a set of questions. While I’m […]

Will Eisner, the man who gave Jack Kirby his start is dead at the age of 87. Neil Gaiman tells a little of what Eisner meant to him.
I was woken up this morning, with the news that Will had died last night, aged 87, and I’ve let a few friends know, and already had to […]

Homegrown Democrat

I’ve been a fan of Garrison Keillor for a long time. Something about his voice, his writing and the delivery of his writings on Public Radio’s “A Prairie Home Companion” just makes me feel good. I really like his humor. So the other night while I was at Barnes & Noble Booksellers I had to […]

Ray Charles Dies

I haven’t said much about Ronald Regan’s death this past weekend. Anything I could say has been said by everyone else. I do want to mention that Ray Charles has died. His music meant a lot to me. I’ll miss him.

Janet’s Right Breast

It seems that people won’t let it be. Yes it was deplorable but it’s done so let’s get on with life. But that would be too easy. Wouldn’t it? Let’s not spend taxpayers money on an investigation over this, let’s just tell MTV to stay away from the Superbowl and don’t buy any more of […]

Superbowl XXXVIII

The score is 14 to 7 at the half. The half time show just went off and it was horrible. The commercials, so far, haven’t been all that great. All I can say is that I’m glad it’s a decent football game for a change.

Boot Scooting with Terri Clark

I told Gerri that when I went back to work I’d take her to a local Country and Western night club for a night out. As luck would have it, Terri Clark was playing at Wild Bill’s last night, the first Friday night after finding regular employment.
It was fun. Terri is now my favorite guitarist. […]

NBC Playing Games?

Move the Crowd pointed to PVRBlog telling about NBCs antics with their scheduling. It seems that NBC is trying to screw up the ability of recording some shows on CBS along with their shows in different time slots by causing scheduling conflicts. For example, CSI runs from 9pm-10pm on CBS on Thursday nights while ER […]

I’ve mentioned several times that instead of sueing their customers and crying to congress for new laws that the recording artists need to move on to a business model that works with the current technology. What I haven’t done is suggest a new model to replace the old one. I think that in order to […]

Dixie Chicks Lit Up Atlanta

Gerri and I went to see the Dixie Chicks in concert at Phillips Arena last night. I’m not too good at reviewing concerts so I’ll just say that the show was extremely enjoyable. I was anxious to see how they were received after the mess Natalie stirred up several months ago. While there were some […]

The Summons: A review.

Everybody has just so many books in them. I think I have just one in me and it’s a comic book with bad artwork and is only about thirty pages long. John Grisham is no exception to the "just so many books" rule and I think he has hit his last one with The Summons.
Don’t […]

Hello. God?

I’ve often seen the phone numbers in tv shows and in the movies that used the 555 exchange and thought why don’t they use a more real looking number. I figured there might be a few jerks out there that would think it would be funny to call numbers they saw appear there but those […]
