Colin Cowherd may be a great football analyst but this?
Oklahoma gave that football game away last night. Congrats to Georgia and their coaches for playing their butt off and playing with confidence. And playing like a huge underdog even though they weren’t. Enjoy it for a week. You’re going to be beaten badly by Alabama who does not lose to quarterbacks who don’t run. Not overly athletic who don’t really throw the ball deep down the field much. It’s going to be ugly.

His claim that Oklahoma gave away the game because they lost their confidence doesn’t take into consideration why they lost their confidence. They lost their confidence because Georgia answered every attempt Oklahoma made to win that game with a comeback of their own. Georgia took away Oklahoma’s confidence and that is what marks a winning team, they get into the other teams head and makes them doubt themselves.
You bring up game statistics but the only ones that ever matter are the scores. Most likely Alabama will beat Georgia next week but that isn’t a given. Just like it wasn’t a given that Oklahoma, with their greatest of all quarterbacks, would win last night.
Glancing through the news this morning I stumble across a prediction that Amazon will purchase Target this year.
“Target is the ideal offline partner for Amazon for two reasons, shared demographic and manageable but comprehensive store count,” Munster wrote, noting both companies focus on mothers and families. “Getting the timing on this is difficult, but seeing the value of the combination is easy.”

I wholeheartedly approve of this deal. I like Target but lately they seem to be lacking in their merchandise. I can see their teaming with Amazon being a cure for that.
It’s official, this country has lost its sense of humor.
A Vanity Fair video suggesting former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton “take up a new hobby in 2018” is garnering online criticism, with some Twitter users calling for the public to cancel their subscriptions to the popular magazine.

A local school teacher was arrested for indecent exposure in a local strip mall parking lot. This is getting to be too routine.
He asked this lady for directions and when she went to answer him she noticed he was exposing himself and masturbating. She fled to a nearby Ross Dress for Less store where she and a clerk watched the guy circle the parking lot a few times and then leave.
The store clerk got his license plate, the police were called an arrest was made and the victim rode by the stop with another office and identified the suspect as the culprit. Now this is where it gets to something different.
Officers attempted to get the Ross employee to do the same, but the employee’s managers threatened to fire her if she did, the report says. Officers also found the Ross employee’s witness statement torn up and could not enter it into evidence.

Can someone explain to me why this store would not allow its employee to cooperate with police? Why would they take a witness statement if they were going to then tear it up and throw it away.
Odd! I don’t think I want to do business with this store.
As we find out more and more about the health benefits of all the foods we once demonized a study out is pointing out canola oil having a possible link to dementia. I think the study even found another important point of impact on our health.
After observing the animals for 12 months, they weighed them. They found that the mice on the canola oil diet weighed significantly more than those on a regular diet.

Not a whole lot is made of this paragraph in the article but with our epidemic of obesity I would have liked to see this fact addressed a little more.
But regarding the article as a whole we need to take the closing paragraph to heart:
“Even though canola oil is a vegetable oil, we need to be careful before we say that it is healthy,” lead researcher Domenico Pratico. “Based on the evidence from this study, canola oil should not be thought of as being equivalent to oils with proven health benefits.”
Other than olive oil I can’t think of one plant based oil that can be considered healthy.
CVS is buying Aetna. They are doing it so both companies can position themselves to better compete with Amazon. Yes, Amazon is looking to be a player in the healthcare industry.
In May, CNBC reported that the company was looking to hire a general manager to develop a strategy for getting into the pharmaceutical business. Then word spread that Amazon had acquired pharmacy licenses in a dozen states. The company said it did so to sell medical supplies, but the move positions Amazon to sell drugs down the line, should it decide it wants to. And just last week, reports circulated that Amazon had held preliminary discussions with generic drugmakers Mylan and Sandoz.

I think Amazon entering the health care market is probably good for my pocketbook but I worry that it might be bad for the quality of health care I receive.
Regardless of the this turns out I will always find one drugstore with a good pharmacy staff to buy all of my prescription drugs from and most of my over the counter drugs from. Why, my pharmacist is just like my doctor. My pharmacist knows me, I make sure to have a personal relationship with the pharmacy staff in that they say, “Hello, Mr. Burton.” on sight and even tell me happy birthday on my birthday. This relationship may have saved my life. I know it has kept me from having some nasty side effects from a couple of medications.
Even with over the counter medication I’ve often had the pharmacist ask me if the medication was for me or my wife because of the possible side effects the medication could have with either a medical condition or prescriptions being taken.
If Amazon is going to get into providing health care services they better be prepared to offer a way for me to get to know, personally, the provider they have working for them. Health care should always remain face to face.
