Crappy Grass

Well the streets are all iced over,
I’m shivering with cold,
My hands are getting so darn numb
this beer is hard to hold
Walking down the driveway
I slipped and busted my ass.
Now I’m laying here in pain and misery
looking at my crappy grass.

Oh darling don’t forsake me
Just because my yard it is not green.
Winter is not forever,
Soon spring will be on the scene.

The salt trucks were out a day ago
throwing salt and sand on the street.
The thought was to protect us
from slipping on our feet.
But the snow plows then came along
they made their final pass.
They threw all that slush and salt and sand
Upon my crappy grass.

Oh darling don’t forsake me
Just because my yard it is not green.
Winter is not forever,
Soon spring will be on the scene.

Now as groundhog day rushes toward us
And winter is half way done.
I’ll be ordering fertilizer
to be delivered by the ton.
Cause it will only be a short time
’til I fill my mower with gas
Then I’ll be out there mowing
And getting rid of that crappy grass.
